Driven by a passion for mountains and skiing, Christiane and André Pinturault arrived in Courchevel in the early 1960s.
In 1972, they decided to build their second establishment and the construction lasted during two summers : 1973 and 1974. The first «new generation» luxury hotel christened «Annapurna» opened for Christmas in 1974.

In the 80’s, they left the management of the hotel to their son and in the season of 1985-1986, Claude Pinturault became the head of the Annapurna. The first changes took place the following summer, creating the first suites.
Since 2008 and after many transformations, all the rooms categories have been renovated in a more minimalistic style. Today, Annapurna reflects the image of its clients: singular and remarkable.
2014 marked the beginning of the renovations of the reception area, the lounge, the lobby and the improvement of the facilities with norms for disabled people. During the summer of 2015, the design of the bar and restaurants areas has been harmonized with the welcome hall and the lounge.
In 2017, the outside refurbishments were made for the general modernization of the establishment.Renovation of cladding, facades, and new balconies… » including the » mixing of materials (wood, stone and glass) in order to give a modern appearance to the building. For the 2018-2019 season, the hotel renovated entirely its wellness area with an indoor pool, saunas, steam room, and jacuzzi. For the summer of 2019, the management is currently planning to create a kid’s club, renovate the ski room, and the teenager’s playroom.
To continue the hotel tradition, Mrs Sandra Pinturault, Claude’s daughter, joined the team 5 years ago. She is currently working as General Director for 2 years now, after working at reception and as Resident Manager. In 2017, Sandra left her mark in the history of the Annapurna, by deciding to reshape the logo, in order to modernize it with the aim of maintaining the original tradition that her father created thirty years ago when he became director.
